The one-hour course is the perfect place to teach you the basics of climbing and helps you ‘learn the ropes’ with a comprehensive introduction to belaying technique that can be used to climb at Triangle Rock Club. Our lesson includes a tutorial on proper top rope belay technique and how to properly use climbing equipment. This class will give you all the tools you’ll need to take the Top Rope Belay Check! All equipment is provided, and participants receive a one-week pass with free rental gear.

Our Intro to Bouldering class provides a broader overview of basic climbing concepts and an introduction to bouldering. Participants learn about climbing grades, shoe technology, basic movement techniques, and bouldering/spotting safety. Intro to Bouldering is designed to provide participants new to indoor climbing a fuller picture of the styles and disciplines of climbing.

Get an introduction to sport lead climbing with Triangle Rock Club’s Intro to Lead Climbing class. This two-part class should come after you have successfully completed our Intro to Rope Climbing and we recommend that participants are comfortable climbing a 5.9 on top rope.
The first two-hour session covers the intricacies of lead climbing, including clipping quick-draws correctly. Session two concentrates on safe belaying, efficient energy conservation and how to take a lead fall. A strong emphasis will be placed on efficiency and risk management. After taking this course most participants should successfully pass our Lead Climbing Check.

Advanced Bouldering Techniques is designed for people who have taken our Intro to Bouldering and Intermediate Bouldering Skills classes and/or have been bouldering for more than a year. The class will cover how to get more out of your bouldering sessions and tips to increase your maximum grade limit. There will also be instruction on how to use advanced tools like the Campus Board and structure bouldering-specific workouts.

Women on the Wall offers a supportive environment for experienced and new climbers alike. Participants will expand their climbing skills while meeting like-minded women along the way.

Have you taken Intro to Lead Climbing, but don’t feel quite ready to take the Lead Test? Do you need to build your confidence on lead? Then the Lead Belay Practice Session is for you! This course is for climbers who are ready to take the next step in their lead climbing journey, but feel like they need a little bit more practice on the ropes before testing for their Lead certification.
