Manager of Marketing & Communications (Full-Time, Salaried)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The Manager of Marketing & Communications is directly responsible for leading, coordinating and managing all communications and marketing for TRC, focusing on growing the TRC community and expanding brand awareness across multiple facility markets. The Manager of Marketing & Communications is a leadership role position that will help facilitate TRC’s mission and vision in all marketing related functions. Responsibilities include but are not limited to -
Digital Marketing & Social Media Engagement –
  • Manages TRC’s social media platforms, including but not limited to: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and TikTok.
  • Creates and publishes brand-relevant content to increase TRC’s social footprint, drive engagement, and increase responsiveness through social media platforms.
  • Reviews Facebook Insights, Twitter Analytics, Google Analytics and other applicable tools to produce traffic and engagement reports and evaluates and refines content strategy based on these analytics.
  • Manages and execute regular email marketing and communication systems and campaigns.
  • Creates and manage advertising campaigns through social media platforms.
  • Maintains TRC’s online presence through management of TRC’s listings on sites such as Yelp, Trip Advisor, Google, Waze, etc.
Graphic Design & Branding –
  • Creates and manage social, digital, and print ads to support TRC programs and offerings.
  • Creates and distribute graphic designs, text, and video for all facilities’ digital and/or print marketing needs, including corporate and facility collateral (envelopes, business cards, etc), flyers, monthly calendars, fitness calendars, digital slideshows, press releases, and apparel designs. Serve as point person for print orders across all facilities.
  • Serves as the TRC website administrator responsible for monitoring, maintaining and updating website content.
  • Creates and/or oversees the creation of all video needs for the company, including orientation videos and advertising content.
  • Develops and maintains brand standards guide across creative content.
Strategy & Brand Awareness –
  • Develops and executes marketing campaigns for TRC’s large community events, programs, and promotions.
  • Coordinates engagement with advertising partners and assesses new advertising opportunities.
  • Works closely with Club Directors on facility-specific marketing needs.
  • Provides marketing support for all TRC sponsored events.
  • Any additional tasks as requested by Management.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must have a demonstrated passion for climbing and fitness on a personal basis.
  • One year of professional experience in social media advertising and four years’ experience in creating marketing and branding strategies for small – medium sized businesses.
  • Open availability to meet facility needs and special events as needed.
  • Works proactively to build relationships within the climbing community and the public.
  • Can work independently and balance competing priorities with ease and flexibility.
  • Strong organization skills and proficient with organizational tools such as web-based applications, MS Office. Strong experience in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe InDesign, and Adobe Premiere or iMovie.
  • Experience with email marketing platforms (Mailchimp preferred).
  • Experience with photography.
  • Excellent written and oral interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must work well as part of a team.
  • BA/BS in a relatable field. Relevant experience and coursework may substitute degree.
  • Some nights or weekends may be required.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • Four years working in customer service and at least 1 years of management or supervisory experience in a climbing gym, fitness center, or camp program.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • Regularly standing up and walking often within facility location.
  • Regularly sitting within facility location.
  • Regularly using hands for gripping tools and control of items within location.
  • Occasionally needing to climb or balance on facility equipment.
  • Rarely needing to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl on facility equipment.
  • Job requires lifting and exerting force up to 45lbs on rare occasions.
  • Vision at 20 inches or less is needed.
  • Work environment is primarily in an office facility with no extreme heat, cold, or sound.
  • Some travel may be required between different facilities.

Camp Coordinator (Full-Time, Hourly)
TRC’s Camp Coordinator is directly involved and responsible for the fulfillment and execution of all TRC Climbing Camps. The Camp Coordinator is a support role under the Programs Manger and must have a constant awareness for risk management and delivering a phenomenal customer service experience for all guests, with an emphasis on campers and their families.
The Camp Coordinator will: oversee program and curriculum development; meet sales and marketing goals; be responsible for the creation of new community relationships and the education of TRC camps, products, and services to new and returning customers; continue growing camp revenue.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to –
  • Improving sales and marketing efforts
  • Execution of all TRC Track Out and Summer Camp programs
    • Ensure that the camp goal and philosophy are realized in every camp
    • Building relationships with camp parents through intentional interactions and outreach
    • Oversee camp staff: communicate daily schedule, professional development, and delegation of tasks Actively engage with counselors and campers during camp hours, ensuring that camp is running smoothly
    • Continually develop camp curriculum, long term camp goals, and staff training
  • Any and all tasks as requested by Programs Manager, Club Director, or other Management Staff
  • Assist with Front Desk operations as needed (in lieu of Floor Staff)

REQUIREMENTS & PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma or GED and 2 years’ experience in youth camp programming. BA in Recreation, Outdoor Recreation Management, Education or equivalent in experience is preferred.
  • Extensive background in customer service and customer facing roles.
  • Extensive background in teaching youth (preferably in a camp or classroom context).
  • Demonstrated passion for the sport of climbing.

Floor Staff (Part-Time, Year-Round)

We’re looking to fill several school-year Track Out Camp Staff positions at all the Triangle-area TRC locations for the year. This position requires daytime availability during the weekday.

Shifts Available:
  • Weekday afternoons.
  • Occasional Sunday evenings and weekend competition travel (paid).

Requirements/Preferred Experience:
  • Demonstrated passion for climbing and desire to share that with others.
  • Prior experience in competition climbing as a participant or Coach role.
  • Background in customer service or any customer-facing role.

Yoga Instructor (Part-Time, Year-Round)
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
    TRC’s Yoga Instructor is directly involved and responsible for providing safe, effective and fun exercises to groups participating in classes/activities. Classes include, but are not limited to: Foundational Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga, Power Yoga, Restore, VinYin, Yoga4Climbers and Slow Flow Yoga. The Yoga Instructor position is under the Fitness Department and he/she must have a constant awareness for risk management and delivering a phenomenal customer service experience to the TRC community, members and guests relative to fitness classes.
Instructor Responsibilities:
  • Provide a phenomenal customer experience for the community, giving priority to risk management, guest/member engagement, facility rules and gym etiquette
  • Ability to lead 2 or more of the following style classes – HIIT, Strength and Conditioning, Core and or Mobility
  • Demonstrate the ability to teach a safe, fun, and creative class
  • Must be able to teach to all levels and provide movement modifications when needed
  • Create a class experience that shows your personality and skills while adhering to TRC Standards and Policies
  • Remains current on certifications and new trends in the industry
  • Create a personal connection and relationship with students
  • Set up studio appropriately: music, equipment, etc.
  • Provide excellent instruction that is consistent with the class format and TRC Philosophy
  • Attentively listens to members, answers questions, and engages in conversation before and after classes
  • Clean studio space and all equipment
REQUIREMENTS & PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • Primary Group Exercise Certification – ACE, AFAA or similar nationally accredited certification required
  • Personal trainer certified preferred
  • CPR/AED and First Aid Certification or willing to obtain within 3 months of employment
  • 1+ years’ experience and actively teaching
  • Willing and available to teach a minimum of 2-4 classes per week
  • Outgoing personality with a strong ability to connect with guests and members
  • Demonstrate the ability to teach a safe, fun, and creative class
  • Have a strong desire to help grow the TRC Fitness Programs

    TRC’s Group Exercise Instructor is directly involved and responsible for providing safe, effective and fun exercises to groups participating in classes/activities. Classes include, but are not limited to: Strength and Conditioning, HIIT Intervals, Plyometrics, Functional Strength Training, Core, and Mobility. The Group Exercise Instructor position is under the Fitness Department and he/she must have a constant awareness for risk management and delivering a phenomenal customer service experience to the TRC community, members and guests relative to fitness classes.
Instructor Responsibilities:
  • Provide a phenomenal customer experience for the community, giving priority to risk management, guest/member engagement, facility rules and gym etiquette
