COVID-19 Response Protocol

  1. A patron who tests positive for COVID-19 must do all of the following:
    1. Notify TRC so that contact tracing1 and facility sanitation can begin.
    2. Self-isolate and self-quarantine2 until the patron meets one of the following CDC requirements:
      1. 10 days have passed since symptoms first appeared and the patron has no symptoms for the last 72 hours, or
      2. The patron has a negative test result at least 7 days after the initial positive test result and the patron has no symptoms for the last 72 hours, or
      3. If patron tested positive but never had symptoms, then patron must:
        1. wait 14 days since positive test result or
        2. have subsequent negative test result.
    3. Receive medical clearance to return to the gym from licensed medical provider.
  2. A patron who believes that they have symptoms related to COVID-19 must remain away from TRC until the patron receives medical clearance from a licensed medical provider.
  3. A patron who has close contact3 (which is defined as being less than 6 feet away for 15 minutes or more while not wearing a face covering) with either:
    1. a person who has tested positive for COVID-19 who has symptoms (and patron’s contact with that person was within the period 2 days before that person developed symptoms and through the end of that person’s self-quarantine) or
    2. a person who has tested positive for COVID-19 but who has no symptoms (and patron’s contact with that person was within the period 2 days before that person’s test and through the end of that person’s self-quarantine)
    3. must self-isolate and self-quarantine until:
      1. 14 days after last exposure to that person or
      2. the patron receives a negative test result from test taken at least 7 days after last exposure.4
  4. If you have any questions at all about how the Protocol applies to your specific circumstances, then “better safe than sorry” will be the best course.

1 When you notify TRC about a COVID-positive test result (or contact with someone who is COVID-positive), you will need to be very specific about the dates of exposure and all of the other contacts you may have had with others – both at TRC and away from TRC. You may also need to be interviewed by more than one TRC staff member designated to collect that information.

2 The requirement to self-isolate and self-quarantine assumes that the person has no “close contact” with friends, TRC patrons, family members, and others.

3 Notice that the days for quarantine are tied to the date of a person’s last “close contact” with a COVID positive person – not testing dates or dates when the test results come back for any person included.

4 Notice that relying on a negative test result to return to TRC requires the test to have been administered 7 days after last exposure to the COVID positive person.
